Andrea's Miracle Recovery!

November News

Andrea is proving once again that miracles do happen. Our prayers of Andy's recovery have been answered, and she is on the road to recovery. We visited her on Sunday (2nd) and again on Saturday (15th), and she doing remarkably well. The Saturday visit was actually fun. Being able to talk has allowed her to relieve some of the frustration of not being able to communicate with her caregivers, as well as her friends and family.
Okay, the good stuff. Andrea has been moved out of CICU and is breathing on her own. The trach has been removed and the opening has been surgically closed, which means they have no intention of putting her back on the ventilator. Yea! She has been working with a speach therapist and is able to talk again. Her voice tires easily but is able to talk with a little bit of rest in-between. They have her up and walking everyday at least once, and on some days, two or three times. As she gets stronger everything is improving. Her infection is gone and she feels good. The team feels that she can get on the transplant list by the end of the month.

Remember when I told everyone to kinda wait to send cards and stuff? Well, that's not true anymore! Andrea faces the very crummy aspect of having her hospital stay last for yet another six months or so. (Give or take) She was a little "down" about that.
Now a great time to go visit, send cards and letters, and even give her a call to say hi! and wish her well. As our prayers have been answered to keep her with us, it will be nice for her to hear your voice. Please take a little time out of your busy day to call or write to:

Nov 20th Fundraiser

Ronit is still at it, doing everything she can think of to help out. She has arranged with Papa's Pizza on Coburg Road to donate 50% of all sales to go towards the Andrea Nagy Fund.
I know, I know, it's pizza...
This is one of those times where I will look the other way (and even join in!!!) and tell everyone I know to go there on Thursday night and have a pizza (or whatever) for Andrea!
I will be there around 6:30 PM, right after work, to join in the festivities. It will be fun! and would appreciate as much participation as possible, of course! Tell your friends and neighbors about this "one-time only" event.
Don't forget to pick up a flyer! You'll need the flyer when you place your order to get credit for the Andrea Fund. We'll have them at Fitness Advantage sometime Monday the 17, when Ronit drops them off.
