Paul Fenley Wins #61
Body Boot Camp

"Mr. Boot Camp" Paul Fenley was a runaway winner of the midsummer body Boot Camp easily taking the "Overall Winner" title. This puts Paul Fenley in a very unique position of being the first "THREE TIME WINNER"!! Congratulations for a job well done! Double winners are Teresa Voorhees-Potterf and Katie Rowlett. Experimenting with a new format this camp was one of the smallest groups so far, but still held a competitive attitude from the very beginning. It started with Mike Regan beating everyone on the "2.4-mile Dairy Block Run". Mike ran fast enough to let Paul know that this was not going to be an easy win. Lisa Bodtker was quietly flying below the radar in the runs but was commanding in the improvements categories. Lisa lost the most weight and an impressive body fat percentage. Paul almost got a perfect score on the final exam but got caught on a "trick" question. Congratulations to Layla Yarr for keeping her cool under pressure! Being the newest to the group she had a lot of questions and pulled a great score (and a couple of muscles) in the final exam (2nd only to Paul). Though annoyed With a couple of minor setbacks (ankle & hip), Layla still managed to finish the entire camp with grace and honour. As so with Lisa nursing an "old knee injury" from way back. One of the highlights of this camp was the amazing "Agility Course" runs by both Mike Regan and Paul Fenley. Mike ran a blistering 0:49.02 second run to really set the bar at an astonomical height. It took Paul all three tries to finally set a new course record at 0:48.60 seconds. And that's with the new "no divng" tunnel rule. Wow! to both you guys! Tracie Shojai Wins Boot Camp for Moms #57!
The "Best Performance" award went to Layla Yarr, her determination and positive attitude kept pushing to daily performance improvements. The only possible competition came from Mike who beat her on the Torcher Chambers runs, but as life has its surprises Mike got called away to work and let Layla strut her impressive performance stats. The "Most Improved" award went to Lisa Bodtker, a returning Body Boot Camper from waaaaaaaaaaayyyy back. She remembers the days when camp was 6 weeks long, and the survival rate was considerably lower. Lisa pulled some extrodinay improvements in body fat changes
dropping an impressive 7.4% body fat percentage in just 4 weeks! Of course Paul couldn't be out done by anyone and truly earning his Overall Winner status dropped an incredible 9.5% body fat. This group showed overall body fat percentage improvements averaging a 7.4% loss within the group. AMAZING! CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!
Body Boot Camp Class #61 Working out everyday (Monday-Friday) for 4 weeks, yielded a 7.4% group average body fat percentage loss, with Paul's high of -9.5%
Group average increase in Lean Body Mass was +1.5 lbs. Not extraordinary, but a very good start, for sure.
High performance in all categories and consistent balanced nutrition (body fat loss) clearly gave Paul a well-deserved "Overall Winner" honor, and a gift certificate for a FREE Body Boot Camp ($599). Congratulations to all the recruits on a job well done!

Our 1st Hawaii Boot Camp!
Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort

Just when you thought that Body Boot Camp couldn't get any better we up the ante! I have been working on this project for the last year, trying to come up with a way to have the ultimate Boot Camp experience. We already know how rigorous and challenging the "Daily Doubles" schedule is for all ages and fitness levels, and we all know how the group dynamics is always so fun yet competitive, but now we can take fun to a whole 'nother level. Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort We start with a normal Body Boot Camp and have all the usual fun stuff. We'll go the "Hayward Field", and we'll go through the "Agility course", and yes we'll run the infamous "Dairy Block", and race our way up "Torcher Chambers" too. But this time we will add a whole new dimension to our already fun program! We are going to Hawaii to finish off the best Boot Camp of the year! Exercising on the shores of Waikiki Beach and Ala Moana Beach Park! We just might be able to fit in some fun night time stuff, too! The first 4 weeks will be Body Boot Camp as usual. On the last Friday we will enjoy our Graduation Dinner just as planned. Then we go home and rest for.
A couple of hours then head to the airport! When we wake up the next morning, we will be setting up our 2nd "Final week" of Boot Camp at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort Hotel. Bright and early Monday morning at 6:00 AM we will be running towards Diamond Head Park for a sweet 6-mile morning jog. We follow that up with a brief workout at the gym then head for the showers. After that is a whole day of free time to relax or go sightseeing or swimming or surfing or whatever your heart desires.
Sandy Beach Boogie Boarding
We pick it up again at 4:30 PM for our afternoon workout in the park. 90 minutes of beach side circuits and it's time to hit the showers again at 6:00 PM. The evenings this time of year is warm and beautiful. No need for a whole lot of clothing. Pack your workout gear, extra socks, a couple of dresses for the night life and you're good to go. The guys only need a pair of slacks, and walking shorts and you're golden. Oh, and maybe one Aloha shirt. Don't have one? I'm sure the girls would love to hit the Hawaiian shops and buy you one. Arrangements are being made to have access to a gym facility, but that has not been made solid yet. We may be using the Hilton facility or the Gold's Gym of Honolulu. Eithe way, we are going to have very fun workouts. And without "work" getting in the way. One can expect remarkable results in an environment that calls to you. Running/jogging/walking trails are everywhere. Beautiful scenery, music, flowers, ocean views, and exotic FOODS! Working out everyday (Monday-Friday) and vigorous playing on the weekends should be great fun!
I have a feeling that we'll see a lot of PMA on this tour!
