Can you imagine "Grandpa Sand"? Well, not only is this true, but his grandson just had his first
birthday. Wow! Time passes so quickly. Before you know it, he'll be in school!
We went up to Portland on this beautiful sunny day and had a great time with the family. Will got
lots of presents and all the kids were amazingly well-behaved. Take the time to enjoy the photos of our family
up north.

Ryan Timm in Tacoma
Ryan Timm did his very first bodybuilding contest on Saturday, August 2nd. He entered the
Lightweight Novice Men's division ready and able. For being his first show and training for less
than 2 years, Ryan showed extremely well.
His posing was smooth and sharp displaying great shape, symmetry and proportion. He was ripped to shreds
at 158 pounds! Mom Tamra was there to scream and shout for her "little boy", as was girlfriend, Amy (all the
way up from San Francisco). Stationed in Tacoma (Air Force) Ryan trains daily at the gym on base. Congratulations
on a job well done!! You make us proud!

Sand Turns 60! Yikes!
Holy Mackerel! I guess I really did it this time. I went and turned the big "six oh"! Wife Anne
threw a great party at Paul & Kathryn's newly remodeled home. (Thank you P & K!) Friends and family joined
the festivities last Saturday, the 26th, with food, music, cake, and Blue Hawaii's abound. Kathryn played
bartender and mixed up pitchers of exotic Blue
Hawaii's while Paul played host and photographer and shot all
these great fun photos. Byron & Jen drove down from Portland to have grandson Will entertain grandpa Sand.
Thank you to everyone for a great party, and for all the Home Depot gift cards! At the final tally, I was able
to get the hammerdrill I really wanted (it was on sale!) Boys and their toys....
Again, THANK YOU to everyone for a very memorable day!
